Poliwag BS

Home>Pokeprofile>Base Set>Water

Poliwag
40 HP
Basic Pokemon
Attack 1: Water Gun 10+
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Water
Attack 1 Special: Does 10 damage plus 10 more damage for each water Energy attached to Poliwag but not used to pay for this attack's Energy cost. Extra Water Energy after the 2nd don't count.
Weakness: Grass
Retreat Cost: 1
Recommendation: This starter is very good, with an attack that increases in power each turn, up to 30 damage. But you would probably want to evolve it at that point so it can use stronger attacks.

Poliwag ND

Poliwag
40 HP
Basic Pokemon
Attack 1: Rollout 10
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 2: Hypnosis
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 1 Water
Attack 2 Special: The Defending Pokemon is now Asleep.
Weakness: Grass
Retreat Cost: 1
Recommendation: This one goes against the definition of what Rollout does. Rollout is supposed to do twice as much damage as it did last turn if it doesn't miss. This Rollout does a constant 10 damage. Hypnosis will help with fixing this problem. You don't need to flip a coin to send the Defending Pokemon to bed. Then, use Rollout until it wakes up again. Put another Energy card on it for its next evolution.

Poliwag NE

Poliwag
50 HP
Basic Pokemon
Attack 1: Headbutt 10
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 2: Rollout 20
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 1 Water, 1 Colorless
Weakness: Electric
Retreat Cost: 1
E-Reader: Part 3 of 6 for a Poliwrath mini-game.
Recommendation: This is a cute card, and it can do some damage out of the gate, but I still think Rollout should be a successive attack. Still, it lasts long enough for you to get the evolved form from your deck.

Poliwag Sky

Home>Pokeprofile>SkyRidge>Water

Poliwag
40 HP
Basic Pokemon
Attack 1: Sleep Bubble 10
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Water
Attack 1 Special: The Defending Pokemon is now Asleep.
Attack 2: Doubleslap 20x
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 2 Colorless
Attack 2 Special: Flip 2 coins. This attack does 20 damage times the number of heads.
Weakness: Electric
Retreat Cost: 1
E-Reader: Construction Action Game: Level Addition: Ledyba Flying at the Second Level, a moving platform left and right. Move Down quickly to dodge the jumping Staryu's Water Gun in the center and Poliwag's bubble on the right.
Recommendation: This is a strong card for a Basic Pokemon with 40 HP. Sleep Bubble is a stalling attack so you can get Doubleslap ready to do a max of 40 damage next turn. If it had 60 HP, I'd call it a Basic Battler, but you do need to evolve it at some point since it's not.

Misty's Poliwag GH

Home>Pokeprofile>Gym Heroes>Water

Misty's Poliwag
50 HP
Basic Pokemon
Attack 1: Hypnotic Stare
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Water
Attack 1 Special: Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokemon is now Paralyzed. If tails, the Defending Pokemon is now Asleep.
Attack 2: Tail Rap 20x
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 1 Water, 1 Colorless
Attack 2 Special: Flip 2 coins. This attack does 20 damage times the number of heads.
Weakness: Grass
Retreat Cost: 1
Recommendation: Use Hypnotic Stare and hope for Tails. This can keep the Defender from attacking for more than one turn. Tail Rap can do a max of 40 damage, so that's good too.

Misty's Poliwag GC

Home>Pokeprofile>GYm Challenge>Water

Misty's Poliwag
50 HP
Basic Pokemon
Attack 1: Bubbles 20
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Water
Attack 1 Special: Flip a coin. If tails, you can't use this attack during your next turn.
Attack 2: Amnesia
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 2 Water
Attack 2 Special: Choose 1 of the Defending Pokemon's attacks. That Pokemon can't use that attack during your opponent's next turn.
Weakness: Grass
Retreat Cost: 1
Recommendation: Use Bubbles the first turn and hope you don't get tails. Use it until you do. Amnesia keeps your Pokemon alive by disabling the opponent's best attack. This is a good idea if you are up against the fully evolved Base Set Pokemon like Charizard.

Poliwhirl BS

Home>Pokeprofile>Base Set>Water

Poliwhirl
60 HP
Stage 1 Pokemon
Attack 1: Amnesia
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 2 Water
Attack 1 Special: Choose 1 of the Defending Pokemon's attacks. That Pokemon can't use that attack during your opponent's next turn.
Attack 2: Doubleslap 30x
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 2 Water, 1 Colorless
Attack 2 Special: Flip 2 coins. This attack does 30 damage times the number of heads.
Weakness: Grass
Retreat Cost: 1
Recommendation: Evolve Poliwag when it has 2 or 3 energies on it, depending on how much damage it has taken. Amnesia is a great attack if you want to stall the other player while you power up your Bench or wait for another card to come along. 60 damage max Doubleslap can take out almost all Basic Pokemon in one or two turns. The Retreat Cost gives it a second chance later on in the game.

Poliwhirl ND

Home>Pokeprofile>Neo Discovery>Water

Poliwhirl
70 HP
Stage 1 Pokemon
Attack 1: Belly Drum
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 1 Special: Put 3 damage counters on Poliwhirl. If this doesn't Knock Out Poliwhirl, search your deck for up to 2 Basic Energy cards and attach them to Poliwhirl. Shuffle your deck afterward.
Attack 2: Water Gun 30+
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 2 Water, 1 Colorless
Attack 2 Special: Does 30 damage plus 10 more damage for each Water Energy attached to Poliwhirl but not used to pay for this attack's Energy cost. You can't add more than 20 damage in this way.
Weakness: Grass
Retreat Cost: 1
Recommendation: Evolve this card from the Base Set Poliwag to get the most damage out of it. Use Belly Drum the first turn, but only if you have a Berry or a Gold Berry attached to it, so you can take the damage away. Then, Water Gun will be able to do 50 damage, while having little or no damage on it. When it reaches this point, the best idea is to evolve it again.

Poliwhirl Sky

Home>Pokeprofile>SkyRidge>Water

Poliwhirl
70 HP
Stage 1 Pokemon
Attack 1: Twiddle
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 1 Special: Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokemon is now Confused. If tails, the Defending Pokemon is now Asleep.
Attack 2: Double Kick 30x
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 3 Colorless
Attack 2 Special: Flip 2 coins. This attack does 30 damage times the number of heads.
Weakness: Electric
Retreat Cost: 1
Recommendation: This is a good stall card, too. With Twiddle you can't loose, because it will slow the opponent down either way. If you evolved Poliwag after you used Doubleslap, you just need one more Energy to use a 60 max Double Kick.

Politoed ND

Home>Pokeprofile>Neo Discovery>Water

Politoed
100 HP
Stage 2 Pokemon
Pokemon Power: Frog Song: Whenever Politoed's attack damages the Defending Pokemon (after applying Weakness and Resistance), if there are more than 3 Poliwags, Poliwhirls, Poliwraths, and/or Politoeds in play (including your opponent's), that attack does 40 more damage (no matter how many heads you get). This power stops working while Politoed is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.
Attack 1: Doubleslap 40x
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 2 Water, 2 Colorless
Attack 1 Special: Flip 2 coins. This attack does 40 damage times the number of heads.
Weakness: Grass
Retreat Cost: 3
Recommendation: This is an amazingly good card. Evolve this card from the Discovery Poliwhirl to be able to use Doubleslap right away. Doubleslap does a max of 80 damage, and if you have all of your Poli's in play, it can do 40 more, making it a max of 120 damage.

Politoed Sky

Home>Pokeprofile>SkyRidge>Water

Politoed
110 HP
Stage 2 Pokemon
Attack 1: Sudden Growth
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 1 Special: Attach any number of basic Energy cards from your hand to Politoed.
Attack 2: Frog Hop 30+
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 1 Water, 2 Colorless
Attack 2 Special: Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 30 damage plus 20 more damage.
Attack 3: Energy Splash 70
Attack 3 Energy Cost: 2 Water, 3 Colorless
Attack 3 Special: Move 2 Water Energy cards attached to Politoed to 1 or 2 of your Benched Pokemon. (You may put both on the same Pokemon or 1 each on 2 different Pokemon.) If you have no Benched Pokemon, ignore this effect.
Weakness: Electric
Retreat Cost: 2
E-Reader: Construction Action Game: Level Addition: 2 jumping Politoeds, one jumps higher than the other, the other shoots a Water Gun at you. There are 2 platforms for you to line up your shot on.
Recommendation: I hope you already have a lot of Energy on Politoed so you can use Energy Splash right away. In the next 2 turns, power it up again while still using Frog Hop with a max of 50 damage. It is hard to survive such strong attacks, so your opponent is in trouble. If you want to get rid of all the Energy cards in your hand, use Sudden Growth to power up. This way, Energy Splash may work for 2 turns in a row.

Poliwrath ND

Home>Pokeprofile>Neo Discovery>Fighting

Poliwrath
90 HP
Stage 2 Pokemon
Attack 1: Corkscrew Punch 30
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Fighting, 1 Colorless
Attack 2: Submission 70
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 2 Fighting, 2 Colorless
Attack 2 Special: Poliwrath does 20 damage to itself.
Weakness: Psychic
Retreat Cost: 2
Recommendation: This is a tough card to use. Most Pokemon Trainers only put Water Energy cards on the Poli's, now you have to adapt, and place Fighting Energy cards where there is a Colorless spot. This may work the best with the Discovery Poliwhirl because it has a space for a Fighting Energy. Evolve it, then add another. Submission is great, it does 70 damage, and 20 to itself, which can be easily remedied with a Berry.

Poliwrath NE

Home>Pokeprofile>Neo Expedition>Water

Poliwrath
100 HP
Stage 2 Pokemon
Pokemon Power: Poke-Power: Plunge: Once during your turn (before you attack), if Poliwrath is on your Bench, you may flip a coin. If heads, take all Energy cards attached to your Active Pokemon, if any, and attach them to Poliwrath. Then switch Poliwrath with your Active Pokemon.
Attack 1: Water Punch 40+
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 2 Water, 2 Colorless
Attack 2 Special: Flip a number of coins equal to the amount of Water Energy attached to Poliwrath. This attack does 40 damage plus 10 more damage for each heads.
Weakness: Electric
Retreat Cost: 2
E-Reader: Part 6 of 6 for a Poliwrath mini-game.
Recommendation: Put this card in an all Water deck to make the best of this card. With Plunge, you won't have to fully power for Water Punch, but do it anyway. That means that when Plunge does work, all the Water Energies will power up Water Punch to create an extremely strong attack.

Poliwrath Sky

Home>Pokeprofile>SkyRidge>Fighting

Poliwrath
110 HP
Stage 2 Pokemon
Pokemon Power: Poke-Power: Strange Spiral: Once during your turn (before your attack), if Poliwrath is your Active Pokemon, you may discard a basic Energy card attached to Poliwrath. If you do, the Defending Pokemon is now Confused. This power can't be used if Poliwrath is affected by a Special Condition.
Attack 1: Spiral Punch 40+
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 2 Fighting, 1 Colorless
Attack 1 Special: Flip a coin until you get tails. This attack does 40 damage plus 20 more damage for each heads.
Weakness: Psychic
Retreat Cost: 2
Recommendation: This Pokemon Power is great against Pokemon with high HP. It can confuse the Defending Pokemon and Spiral Punch can do limitless amounts of damage while the Defending Pokemon is hitting itself.
