Rattata BS

Home>Pokeprofile>Base Set>Colorless

Rattata
30 HP
Basic Pokemon
Attack 1: Bite 20
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: Psychic
Retreat Cost: 0
Recommendation: This is a weak starter in HP that makes up for it with attack power. This may be a 1 or 2 turn attacker, because if the Defender damages you, you'll have to switch out to a different Pokemon.

Rattata NE

Home>Pokeprofile>Neo Expedition>Colorless

Rattata
30 HP
Basic Pokemon
Attack 1: Quick Attack 10+
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 1 Special: Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 10 damage plus 20 more damage.
Weakness: Fighting
Retreat Cost: 1
E-Reader: Clefairy's Melody Box: Instrument change to the spaceship of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind".
Recommendation: This is a great starter. For 1 Energy, you can do a max of 30 damage ON THE FIRST TURN! Your opponent will have a problem getting back up from that first strike. But, you may not have a second strike, since his HP is so low. Make sure to evolve him quickly.

Rattata Sky

Home>Pokeprofile>SkyRidge>Colorless

Rattata
30 HP
Basic Pokemon
Attack 1: Call for Friends
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 1 Special: Search your deck for a Baby Pokemon or Basic Pokemon card and put it onto your Bench. Shuffle your deck afterward. (You can't use this attack if your Bench is full.)
Attack 2: Body Slam 10
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 2 Special: Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokemon is now Paralyzed.
Weakness: Fighting
Retreat Cost: 1
E-Reader: Part 4 or 4 for a Cleffa mini-game.
Recommendation: I can't believe they brought back a Call attack for the Bench! I thought those died off with Fossil Edition, but it looks like they're back. And it looks like this card needs it too. Call for Friends better get out a Basic Battler before Rattata becomes toast because of his 30 HP. Body Slam can give you some time to evolve or switch, but I'd rather leave this one in the card books.

Rattata TR

Home>Pokeprofile>Team Rocket>Colorless

Rattata
40 HP
Basic Pokemon
Pokemon Power: Trickery: Once during your turn (before you attack), you may switch 1 of your Prizes with the top card of your deck. This power can't be used if Rattata is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.
Attack 1: Quick Attack 10+
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 1 Special: Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 10 damage plus 10 more damage; if tails, this attack does 10 damage.
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: Psychic
Retreat Cost: 0
Recommendation: Quick Attack is a great starting attack with 20 max damage. Trickery is great to use after you've used something like Computer Search and found that the card you were looking for was in your prizes. I hate when that happens. The 40 HP lets it last longer than the Base Set Rattata, but not that much.

Lt. Surge's Rattata GH

Home>Pokeprofile>GYm Heroes>Colorless

Lt. Surge's Rattata
40 HP
Basic Pokemon
Attack 1: Focus Energy
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 1 Special: During your next turn, Lt. Surge's Rattata's Gnaw attack's base damage is doubled.
Attack 2: Gnaw 20
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 2 Colorless
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: Psychic
Retreat Cost: 1
Recommendation: Start out with Focus Energy, then use Gnaw, which does 40 damage. If that doesn't KO the Defending Pokemon, use one more Gnaw without the Focus Energy. That usually does it.

Lt. Surge's Rattata GC

Home>Pokeprofile>Gym Challenge>Colorless

Lt. Surge's Rattata
30 HP
Basic Pokemon
Attack 1: Focus Energy
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 1 Special: During your next turn, Lt. Surge's Rattata's Quick Attack's base damage is doubled.
Attack 2: Quick Attack 10+
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 2 Colorless
Attack 2 Special: Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 10 damage plus 20 more damage; if tails, this attack does 10 damage.
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: Psychic
Retreat Cost: 0
Recommendation: Use Focus Energy the first turn, and Quick Attack the second, but switch on the third or else he's out of there.

Raticate BS

Home>Pokeprofile>Base Set>Colorless

Raticate
60 HP
Stage 1 Pokemon
Attack 1: Bite 20
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 2: Super Fang ?
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 3 Colorless
Attack 2 Special: Does damage to the Defending Pokemon equal to half the Defending Pokemon's remaining HP (rounded up to the nearest 10).
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: Psychic
Retreat Cost: 1
Recommendation: This may be the best time to use a DCE, when evolved from Rattata, he has only one Energy on him, but with the DCE, you can use his Super Fang this turn. Speaking of Super Fang, it's best used when the Pokemon you're up against is fully evolved. This cuts the HP of the opponent to half. Retreat the next turn and use a stronger attacker to finish the Defender off.

Raticate Sky

Home>Pokeprofile>SkyRidge>Colorless

Raticate
70 HP
Stage 1 Pokemon
Attack 1: Scratch 20
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 2: Continuous Bite 10+
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 2 Colorless
Attack 2 Special: Flip 3 coins. If you get 1 heads, this attack does 10 damage plus 10 more damage. If you get 2 heads, this attack does 10 damage plus 30 more damage. If you get 3 heads, this attack does 10 damage plus 60 more damage.
Weakness: Fighting
Retreat Cost: 1
E-Reader: Construction Action Game: Level Addition: 2 Raticates walking together and a separate Wobbuffet on the same ground level with a Pokeball recharge.
Recommendation: On the surface, Raticate is weak, and it is when you look at the standard Scratch attack. But when you take a closer look at Continuous Bite, you can do a max of 70 damage in one hit! Though it is a 1 in 8 chance of doing so, slightly weaker attacks used repeatedly will do a lot of damage.

Dark Raticate TR

Home>Pokeprofile>Team Rocket>Colorless

Dark Raticate
50 HP
Stage 1 Pokemon
Attack 1: Gnaw 20
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 2 Colorless
Attack 2: Hyper Fang 50
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 3 Colorless
Attack 2 Special: Flip a coin. If tails, this attack does nothing.
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: Psychic
Retreat Cost: 1
Recommendation: Dark Pokemon are usually weaker than the normal evolutions, and this is no exception. You may want to use a DCE, but don't, because he'll get knocked out of the battle too soon. Also, Hyper Fang has a chance to miss, so that's not good. There is a Stadium Card out there that increases Dark Pokemon's HP, it's called Rocket's Hideout. That will help it stay in battle longer.

Lt. Surge's Raticate GH

Home>Pokeprofile>GYm Heroes>Colorless

Lt. Surge's Raticate
70 HP
Stage 1 Pokemon
Attack 1: Super Fang ?
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 1 Special: Does damage to the Defending Pokemon equal to half the Defending Pokemon's remaining HP (rounded up to the nearest 10).
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: Psychic
Retreat Cost: 1
Recommendation: This card is best used if you are up against the strongest card in your opponent's deck. Use it to drop the opponent's HP to half, then switch to a different Pokemon to finish it off.

Lt. Surge's Raticate GC

Home>Pokeprofile>Gym Challenge>Colorless

Lt. Surge's Raticate
60 HP
Stage 1 Pokemon
Attack 1: Focus Energy
Attack 1 Energy Cost: 1 Colorless
Attack 1 Special: During your next turn, Lt. Surge's Raticate's Double-edge attack's damage (base damage and damage to itself) is doubled.
Attack 2: Double-edge 40
Attack 2 Energy Cost: 2 Colorless
Attack 2 Special: Lt. Surge's Raticate does 20 damage to itself.
Weakness: Fighting
Resistance: Psychic
Retreat Cost: 1
Recommendation: If you are planning to use a Focus Energy Double-edge, attach a Gold Berry to it. If you don't, it may not survive to attack next turn.
