Year 2245 A.D. (Conjecture) U.S.S. Constellation, NCC-1017, is launched.
(Assumes the ship was built at the same time as the Enterprise.)
Year 2263 A.D. (Conjecture) Commodore Matt Decker placed in command of the Constellation.
(Assumes his five-year mission launched at same time as the
Enterprise under James Kirk.)
Stardate 4202.1 Encounters several destroyed solar systems.
Investigates system L-374.
Science officer Masada reports the fourth planet
seems to be breaking apart. Heavy subspace
interference prevents notification of Starfleet.
Attacked by "planet killer." Ship is nearly destroyed.
Crew is evacuated to the surface of the third planet
in system L-374.
Crew killed, except Commodore Matt Decker, when the
planet killer destroys the third planet.
Stardate 4203.1 (Conjectural) Derelect U.S.S. Constellation discovered by U.S.S.
Enterprise. Decker is rescued.
Commodore Decker assumes command of the Enterprise in
the abscence of Kirk, who is aboard the Constellation with
a damage control team attempting to repair the ship.
Decker is relieved of command. He escapes on a shuttle in
a failed attempt to destroy the planet killer. He is killed.
Kirk sets the Constellation's damaged impulse engines to
overload and sends it in to the planet killer. In the
explosion, the planet killer is shut down. The Constellation
is destroyed.
