The Belle Vernon Swim Club practice is normally held at Belle Vernon Area Senior High School swimming pool. The practice times vary with the seasons and other scheduled use of the pool. These practice schedules will be updated in the Club News page. Emergencies or other extenuating circumstances may cause a pratice session to be untimely cancelled. Every effort will be made by the phone chain members to contact all swimmers and advise them of the cancellation. However, it is strongly advised that parents always escort their swimmers to and from the pool deck. This is to prevent having swimmers stranded in the event practice had to be cancelled on short notice and you are unaware of the cancellation.
All dues are to be paid to the Treasurer. All checks for dues should be made payable to "Belle Vernon Swim Club" and sent to BVSC, P.O. Box 313, Belle Vernon, PA 15012. Dues should be paid by the due date on the payment coupons you receive at the beginning of each season. Our current dues structure is $105.00 for the winter season, divided in 3 equal payments of $35.00 and $50.00 for the summer season, divided in 2 equal payments of $25.00 An initiation fee of $10.00 is required for all new members.
The club has one fund raiser during the year; the annual Oktoberfest Invitational Swim Meet. All parents MUST participate in this meet. If we find it necessary, an additional fund raiser may be scheduled.
Belle Vernon Swim Club members can earn several different awards. When you have been a club member for six (6) months, the swimmer will receive a swim club logo gym bag. One (1) year members receive an award (such as a sweat suit or team jacket) at the Annual Banquet. This award varies year by year. Each swimmer receives a point for each time improvement they achieve throughout the year. When they accumulate fifteen (15) points, they will receive a trophy at the Annual Awards Picnic. In addition, various summertime activities are sponsered for the swimmers and their friends.
