The primary purpose of the VRWC...is to fearlessly pursue the truth. But, some will say, how do you know that what you find is the truth? There is no truth. There are just opinions. Opinions are not (or, at least, should not be) the result of whims and fancies. In order to hold opinions, we must carefully study the subject at hand. But this study should not only be careful; it must also contain an element of fearlessness. Because whenever we research any subject, we may well find that the world does not fit our pre-conceived notions. So we must be unafraid to face the truth about whatever subject we choose to learn. So, what will you find here? Our vision for this sight is to be a place where people can come to find information about the great issues of the day. And, while these issues concern everything from health care to quotas to education, at the core of all of them is one central theme: What is the nature of Man? (Actually, a liberal would have tried to reword this... "Nature of person?" "Nature of humankind?" "Nature of hu-personkind?") Over the past, many authors have devoted entire books to this great debate, and we hope to provide insightful review and analysis of many of them. Naturally, we have lots to say about politics and economics. What we hope you will discover here is that the debates about the critical issues facing America (and the world) today are being defined along conservative and libertarian lines, and that, in and of itself, is no small threat to the Global Villager mentality. So, you'll find a libertarian slant to much of what's here, and we know that's a good thing. See for yourself - we will have several essays on a variety of topics facing America and the world. And, of course, there are links to some of our favorite places on the web. Soon, we'll add a local search engine (when there's enough stuff here to justify it). So, enjoy your visit, and check back from time to time. We hope to keep this site constantly growing, and we hope to be a source of information, insight, and fun.
NavigationSome notes about finding your way around.
Copyright InformationFinally, a word about copyrights. We know that enforcing copyrights across the web is damn near impossible. Where we have used copyrighted material, one or more of the following apply:
So, here's the deal. If you want to use the stuff you find here for homework, papers, bar bets, etc., feel free to do so. But please remember to give credit where credit is due. We have made every reasonable effort to do this, and we hope you will, too.
Site UpdatesWe hope to make this a site that contains plenty of general reference information about the Conservative/Libertarian worldview, and, as such, we hope constantly to add new stuff. However, at present, we only have a few pages. As we add new stuff, we know that this site will actually become a little more complex, and finding the changes might be a bit difficult. So, we will revise the Updates page whenever changes are made. Please check there for the latest and greatest as we grow.
Microsoft FrontPage®This site was produced with (and, in many cases, in spite of) Microsoft FrontPage98®. If you're curious about the [in spite of] part of the production effort, we're working on a page detailing some of the work-around's we used to produce this site. As soon as it's ready, there'll be a link right here. Despite the challenges and shortcomings FrontPage presents, we think it is a worthwhile product, and heartily recommend it. We have dealt with several other web authoring tools, and this one stands out. In terms any economist understands, its benefits (styles, link synchronization, etc.) outweigh its shortcomings (inability to attach event handlers to objects a la Borland Delphi or Microsoft Visual Basic) by an amount sufficient to justify dropping the dime. |
We would love to hear from you. Complements, criticisms, questions, suggestions, and seriously scorching flames are all equally welcome. Copyright © 1998 by Kevin P. HallAll rights reserved. Last update: 03/24/98 |
