Links to some really nifty sites!

This page contains treasures and trash. It's like the junk drawer in your kitchen where all the useful and frivolous items that you can't find a place for anywhere else end up. On this page, you will find some of my favorite Pittsburgh links, Art related links, Origami links and some miscellaneous fun places to go. Links related to birds and Literature are on their respective pages. If you find that any of these links are dead, please let me know, and I will update them as soon as possible. And hey! if you have a favorite site you'd like to share, let me know!

FAVORITE PLACES TO GO

PITTSBURGH

The Three Rivers Free Net - This is a really great place to get acquainted with Pittsburgh
The Friends of the Riverfront - This is a really terrific organization. They are designing a wonderful program for public arts projects to happen along the river trails.
The Andy Warhol Museum - This is the most comprehensive collection of Andy's work. The museum also sponsors some really terrific programs for arts in the community. Be sure to go to my performance page to see the Horses' Mouth piece that Christiane Leach and I collaborated on.
The Carnegie Museum of Pittsburgh - This museum's art collection was started on the premise of building a collection of current and contemporary works by living artists. I am happy to say that they are still following that philosophy in their support of artists in the Pittsburgh community.
The Mattress Factory - This museum specializes in presenting installation and performance arts. Not for the more pedestrian art appreciator!
The Society for Contemporary Crafts - A wonderful gallery and meeting space. Last year they put on an eye opening exhibit of books.
In Pittsburgh - This is the weekly magazine that tracks a lot of the events in the Pittsburgh area.
Sun Crumbs  - Sun Crumbs is a grass-roots, non-profit, artists advocacy organization. The Executive Director, Christiane Leach, is a wonderful visual, as well as performance, artist. Under her leadership, this organization is producing some very innovative and significant programming.
The Enrico Biscotti Company - This is a really great bakery in the Strip District. They make wonderful biscotti and some other really treats. If your in the neighborhood, definitely check it out!
