Super Link Main Page
The Super Link III is the first and only reusable chain connector that makes it a snap to connect and disconnect your bike chain for cleaning, maintenance or repair. No tools are required to install or remove your chain. Don't forget to carry a spare Super Link in your tool kit for emergencies.
Ask for the Craig Super Link III by name to be sure you purchase the only reusable, made in the USA, chain connector available.
This patented design is deceptively simple looking. What you don't see when you look at the Super Link is the very tight tolerances. You would be hard pressed to find any component in the aerospace, computer or electronics industry with tighter tolerances. The Super Link is completely compatible with all shifting systems; put it on and you will forget it is there until it's time to remove the chain for maintenance.
The plate and pin are 1095 high carbon steel that is furnace brazed together to insure a strong joint. The Super Links are made in batches of about 10,000 and a statistical percentage are tested twice during the manufacturing process; once after heat treating and a final test after plating. The Super Link III is at minimum as strong as your chain, and is the best chain connector available anywhere.
The Super Link III is guaranteed against structural failure for one year from time of purchase. How long your chain or Super Link will last depends on the weather conditions, road or trail conditions, lubrication (and lack thereof), rider and type of equipment. The average life of a chain is 1,000 to 3,000 miles for road use, 500 to 1500 miles for off road use. If you use dry lubricants for your chain be sure to apply the product often. In certain conditions dry lubricants should be applied for each ride.
There are two different sizes available to accommodate different chain widths:
