"In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Quiggin of Ballagary in KK Braddan
being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do ordain and
appoint this for my last will and testament as follows:
First - I commit my soul to God and my body unto a Christian burial.
I leve and bequeath unto my three sons viz - Thomas, John, and William
Quiggin the sum of five shillings British each.
I leave and bequeath unto my three daughters namely Ann, Jane, and
Elizabeth the sum of five shillings British each.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret a cow.
And Lastly I nominate and appoint my son Robert Quiggin whole and sole
executor of this my last will and testament and residuary legatee of all
the rest of my goods and effects movable and immovable of what kind name
or nature soever as witness my subsciption this fourth day of October One
Thosand Eight Hundred and Thirty One. Thomas Quiggin his X mark 4 Oct

A codicill to the above will
I leave and bequeath unto my three daughters viz, Ann, Jane, and
Elizabeth afore mentioned the sum of four pounds, fifteen shillings

this fifth day of September One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Five

At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas on the 18th day of June 1837
Robert Quiggin in the foregoing will named executor of the same as also
of the codicil executor of the same as also of the codicil thereto
annexed, is sworn in court in form of law well and truly to execute the
aforesaid last will and testament of Thomas Quiggin deceased and codicil
thereto annexed to pay all his just debts and legacies so far as the
goods and affects of the deceadent will extend and the law bind him and
to do all other acts and deeds pertaining to the office of executor
according to law and to these ends he has given pledges namely William
Cannell and Daniel Creer both of the parish of Braddan Probatum est

From his Mother-in-law's 1784 will probate:
"Thomas Quiggin husband of Anne Quiggin als Cannell a daughter of the
testatrix acknowledges to have received from Wm Cannell the executor the
money and goods bequeathed by the testatrix in the before going will and
Robt Cannell also acknowledged to have rec'd the legacy of twnety two
pounds bequeathed to him by the said will and they do hereby exonerate
acquit and discharge the executor and every other person of the same and
every part thereof - Witness their marks affixed to their names this 2d
July 1793. Thos Quiggin my X and Robt Cannell my X"
