This is affirmed to be the Last Will & Testament of
John Cannel of the parish of Ballaugh who Departed this
life about ye.Eight day of March last being Sound in
perfect Mind & Memory at Making of the Same ~
First he Committed his Soul to Almighty God & his
Body to Xtian Burial
Itm He left to his Three Sons viz. Pat Cha: & Will
Cannel all ye.Sheep he had in Barnegary Equally
betwixt Them as Legacy \snd ye.They were to give
M~Woods a Choise Mutton in part of the Money
Due to him
Lastly He Nominated and appointed his Son Cha:Cannel
his true and Lawful Excer.of all the rest of his Goods
Moveable & Immoveable of what Nature so Ever.

This is affirmed to be the Last Will & Testament of
Catherine Cannel als Cowley of the parish of Ballaugh who
Departed this Life about yl.15th.of Febry.last being Sound
in perfect Mind & Memory at Making of The Same ~
First She Committed her Soul to Almighty God & her Body to
Xtian Burial.
Itm She left and bequeathed to her Son Pat Cannel her part
of the little Black Mare as Legacy, And her husband
John Cannel Consented Thereunto That his sd.Son Patrick
Should have his Share of yl.sd.Mare likewise.

She left to her Son Ralph Cannel her riding hood a red petty
Coate a pair of Rodyes and a black Gown in Lieu of ten Shillings
that was Due to him.

She left to her Son Willm.Cannel her half of The
purchased Land they had in Ballnelargey as Legacy
and That her husband was to hold and Enjoy her sd.half
During his Natural life, And he yl.sd.husband John Cannel
Consented to her sd.Will, That his sd.Son William was to
possess and have his half of ye.sd.Land likewise after his
own Demise, She left to ye.sd.Willm.ye.little heiffer her
husband Consented ye.he should have his Share of ye.sd.heiffer
Also, likewise She left ye.sd.Willm.two Sheep as Legacy

Lastly She Nominated and appointed her Son Cha:Cannel her Sole
Excr.of all ye.rest of her goods Moveable and Immoveable
What So Ever    The Exrt.Sworn in Court in Form of
    Law ~ And in regards John Cannell

Two items link him to those parents: IGI Christening Record lists them as his parents and all lived at the Bishop's Domeain per Will below and father's Burial Record. Continuing the tradition he does not name his son John in his Will!

the Lord Bpp's Domeain who departed this life
abt. the beginning of April Anno Dm 1755. being
of perfect mind & memory at the making hereof
First He committed his Soul to God and his Body to
Christian burial ~ Item He left unto his two
daughters Catherine & Margt.Thirty shillings each
Item To his Grandchildren Patrick & Isabel Cannell
one yearling each ~ Item To the witnesses of
his Will six pence each. And Lastley he nomina:

This is affirmed by the Subscribing Wittnesses to
to be the last Will and Testament of Isabel
Cannel als Casement - Widow of John Cannel of
the Ld. Bps. Domain, who departed this Life
in January, Anno predicto. --
Having, in perfect Mind and Memory committed
her Soul to God and Body to Christian Burial.
She bequeathed to her Daughter Anne Cannel
the Cow, and She to be paid her Father's Goods --
herein, with which the said Anne declared to be
Satisfied. --
She declared She owed her Daughters Kath. and
Margt. Cannel Ten Shillings each of their Father's
Goods, and She left her said Daughter Kath Ten
Shillings more.
She left to her Daughters Margt. and Anne afore-
said all her Household Stuff Beds and Bed Cloaths
Linnen and Woolen shop'd? and unshop'd
with all the Food and Vituals in the House and
Crop in the Haggard?, they giving form? Bottles of
Metcorn? out of the Same to her Daught. Kath.
and the worsted yarn to her Daught. Anne entirely
To her Daughter Anne Ten Shills. and her Daugh-
ter Margt. Ten Shills. and her Right of the brown
Mare equally betwixt them.
To her Grand Children Patr. and Isabel Cannel
the little Mare entirely and a Gown or what would be
Cloaths for them of the Stuff, which her said Daugh-
ters Margt. & Anne were to give them and also to
give her Son John a Pessy? or Waistcoat of the ??
Cloath together with Three Yards of the Linsey? Woolsey?
and a new Canvass to her Daught. Kath.
To her Son John the table and Chair
And nominated and constituted her Son John Cannel
aforesaid Sole Executor of all the Rest of her Goods
moveable and immoveable whatsoever.
