NOTE 1: DEATH OF A PIONEER "Mrs. William J. CAIN died last Wednesday, Sept. 6. 1905
of stomach trouble, complicated with the informities incidental to old age. She was ill for about six weeks and owing to her age it was impossible to save her. She was an old resident here. Having lived in Marshall Co. for almost fifty years and was most highly respected and loved by an extremely large circle of friends.
Deceased was born on the Isle of Man Oct 2. 1822 and was therefore at the time of her death nearly 83 vears of age. She came to this country when a young girl and located at Chicago. Where she was married in the early 1850s. Mr. and Mrs. CAIN were the parents of six children. Those who survive their mother are: Mrs. E. J. Culton. of Wyoming IL, and Mrs.
Richard Kelley and Thomas Cain of here. Mr. Cain died Sept. 9, 1898 and since then Mrs. Cain has lived with her son. Thomas on the farm in this township which was her home for 38 years.
The funeral took place last Friday afternoon at the Saratoga M.E. Church, Rev. Dille officiating. John Shearer, Robert Kelley. AI True. Thos. Monier, Milas Holmes and Bruce Wilson acted as pallbearers. There was a very large attendance at the services."
