ARCHDEACON WILL Kirk Michael 1814 #63 FHL Film #0106239:

The last will and testament of John Quayle of the parish of KK Michael
who being now in his declining years and weak in body but of a disposing
mind memory and understanding do make this my last will and testament
in form and manner following:
First I commit my soul to God and body to Christian burial.
I leave and bequeath to my eldest son William Quayle the sum of thirteen
pounds to be paid out of consideration money granted by Phillip
Mylecharane to the testator for a settlement of certain premises of
lands but if my afforesaid son William Quayle shall enter any law suit
touching the afforesaid against premises then and in that case I appoint
the afforesaid legacy to be reduced to four shilling.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Cannell a large chest with
an iron loop at both ends.
I leave and bequeath to my son Charles Quayle a cheese prest.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Judy Mughtin the sum of five pounds
to be paid out of the afforesaid consideration granted by Phillip
Mylecharane.
I leave and bequeath to my son John Quayle the sum of five shillings.
I leave and bequeath to my grandaughter Margaret Shimmin the sum of
three pounds three shillings British.
I leave and bequeath to my grandaughter Jane Mylecharane the sum of
one pound as legacy.
I leave and bequeath to my son in law Phillip Mylecharrane - my part of
the clock - my part of the horses - my part of the cart - and my part of
the husbandry gears.
I John Quayle the testator declare before us the witnesses that he
stands indebted unto Phillip Mylecharane in the sum of seven pounds
British and I appoint the afforesaid sum to be paid out of my part of the
forty pounds that John Clague of Douglas stands indebted to me and I
leave and bequeath the remainder of the part of the afforesaid sum to
Phillip Mylecharane and Margaret Cannell my daughter equally between
them.
I leave and bequeath to Phillip Mylecharane the sum of twenty seven
pounds to be paid out of the consideration in his own hands.
And lastly I nominate and appoint my son Thos Quayle and Phillip
Mylecharane and Margaret Quayle my daughter joint executors
of all the rest of my goods right credits chattles and effects moveable
and immoveable of what kind of denomination soever excluding all other
person or persons that will claim any right or title to this my last will
and testament with six pence legacy and I also appoint a shilling to each

At a Chapter Court holden in Kirk Michael the 14th June 1814. Patrick
Cannell one of the executors named having relinguished his rights in favor
of the other two namely Thomas Quayle and Phillip Myecharane, they the
said Thomas and Phillipare there upon sworn executor in form of law and
to be true and just to each other in the division of effects and for the
payment of debts and legacies they have given pledges namely the
witnesses of the will. Probatum est. Thos Stephen

We Philip Quayle son of John Quayle the testator and Patrick Cannell
husband of Margt Cannell als Quayle of Ballaugh do acknowledge to have
received from Thomas Quayle and Philip Mylecharane their executors
administrators and assigns of the same and every part thereof. As
witness our names this 2nd day of Febry 1815.
