    NOTES: From his Father-in-law's 1812 will:
    "I leave and bequeath to my eldest son William Quayle the sum of thirteen
    pounds to be paid out of consideration money granted by Phillip
    Mylecharane to the testator for a settlement of certain premises of
    lands but if my afforesaid son William Quayle shall enter any law suit
    touching the afforesaid against premises then and in that case I appoint
    the afforesaid legacy to be reduced to four shilling. . . I leave and bequeath to my daughter Judy Mughtin the sum of five pounds to be paid out of the afforesaid consideration granted by Phillip Mylecharane. . . .I leave and bequeath to my son in law Phillip Mylecharrane - my part of the clock - my part of the horses - my part of the cart - and my part of the husbandry gears. . . . I leave and bequeath the remainder of the part of the afforesaid sum to Phillip Mylecharane and Margaret Cannell my daughter equally between them.
    I leave and bequeath to Phillip Mylecharane the sum of twenty seven
    pounds to be paid out of the consideration in his own hands.
    And lastly I nominate and appoint my son Thos Quayle and Phillip
    Mylecharane and Margaret Quayle my daughter joint executors
    of all the rest of my goods right credits chattles and effects moveable
    and immoveable of what kind of denomination soever excluding all other
    person or persons that will claim any right or title to this my last will
    and testament with six pence legacy and I also appoint a shilling to each witness."

    At an Ecclesiastical Court holden at Ramsey June 12th 1812: Ann Mylecharane als Quayle of KK Michael having departed this life on or about the 18th of May last past intestate, the court having received intelligence thereof hath decreed her eight children namely John, Phillip, Thomas, Charlotte, Margaret, Jane, Catherine, and Elizabeth Mylecharane co-administators of all and singular her goods rights credits chattels and effects moveable and immoveable whatever. John, Phillip, Charlotte, Jane, Margaret, and Catherine aforesaid being at the age have given up their right of administrations to there father who is there upon sworn guardian and supervisor of Thos and Elizabeth who are under age and in trust for them will and truly to administer the estate of the intestate to exhibit a full accurate and perfect inventory thereof into the Episcopal Registry to pay all her just debts as far forth as the goods will extend and the law bind him and to these ends he hath given pledges in form of law namely Patrick Cannell and John Mylcharane, the said Patrick Cannell and John Mylcharane are sworn guardians and supervisors of the children under age. Decretum est Thos Cubbon.
        Whereas Ann Mylecharane of the parish of Kirk Michael (Late wife of Philip Mylecharane of said parish) departed this life on or about the 18th day of May instant intestate and entitled to certain personal effects which are now become the property of her children namely John, Philip, Charlotte, Margaret Jane and Catherine Mylecharane who are at lawful age and Thomas and Elizabeth Mylecharane who are under age -  Whereas the said children to relinquish and surrender their respective    shares of the goods and effects of their said deceased mother unto their father the said Philip Mylecharane. Wherefore know all Men by these presents that we the said John, Philip, Charlotte, Margaret Jane and Catherine Mylecharane the children at age aforesaid for and in consideration of the engagements on the part of our said father as herein after mentioned do hereby surrender relinguish and give up our respective shares of all and singular the goods, rights, credits, chattles and effects whatever of our said deceased mother Ann Mylecharane unto our father the said Philip Mylecharane his executors and assigns forever and do as far as we are severally concerned authorized and empower our said father to take out letters of administation to the estate of our said mother deceased. And the said Philip Mylecharane doth in consideration of the above relinquishment bind himself his executors administrators and assigns to pay or cause to be paid the funeral expences and just debts of the said Ann Mylecharane so far as the said children at age might be subject to -  For the true performance whereof the parties do hereby bind    themselves their respective executors administrators and assigns under a penalty of one hundred pounds British.
