I John Quiggin of Balla-Gary in the Parish of Braddan being of sound and
perfect mind and memory, make this my last will and testament; in manner
and form following -
Imp: I commend my soul to God and my Body to Christian Burial.
Item: I leve and bequeath to my daughter Janeseven pounds.
Item: I leave to my daughter Margaretseven pounds.
Item: I leave to my son Johntwo sheep.
Lastly - I leave and bequeath to my son Thos Quiggin, whom I likewise
constitute, ordain and appoint (the whole and sole) executor of this my

Annotation Note:
* "Carraghan" is clearly correct and does not need the brackets.
What it means I don't know, but there is a word carragheen, meaning a type
of seaweed. I just wonder whether Carraghan was a judge or the like who
determined rents or whether Carraghan rent means something like peppercorn
or nominal rent. After all seaweed would not have been worth much! .

father namely John Quiggin of the Parish
of KK Michael departed this life
on or about the 21st day of December last past and left your Petitioner
Executor of his goods and effect and that the said John
Quiggin stood
indebted to sundry persons in considerable sum of money; that the
personal estate of the said Decedent is in a perishable condition and
if not
immediately taken care of many be very prejudicial to the Executor
