Mail-Away Premiums

There are many mail-away premium items that have been available from both Pillsbury and Green Giant. Usually the item can be sent for with proofs of purchase (UPC symbols).

Recent premiums include the Doughboy talking watch and the Doughboy phone card. The Doughboy talking watch was available through December 31, 1996 for $5.95 and 3 proofs of purchase. The watch is digital and has a royal blue plastic band with Doughboys biking, skateboarding , and running. The order form describes it as follows: It's more than a watch - it's a Doughboy "talking watch and alarm"! Just push the button, and let the Doughboy tell you the present time. Made of sturdy plastic, the Doughboy Talking Watch is a real conversation piece!

The Doughboy phone card was available early in 1997. It 's a GTE 20-minute prepaid phone card. The front of the card has the Doughboy wearing sunglasses and holding a cordless phone. The words "Summer's Calling" are across the top and the Pillsbury symbol is in the corner.

In 1991, Doughboy and Sprout plastic dinnerware sets were available. The set included a tray, cup, knife, fork and spoon. The Doughboy set is white and has a raised Doughboy on the tray and cup. There is also a Doughboy figure on the end of the knife, fork and spoon. The Sprout set is green and has a Sprout on the tray and cup and the ends of the utensils.

A Doughboy birthday party kit was available in 1987. The 57 piece kit included paper plates, cups, napkins, party hats, noise makers, favor bags, and balloons for eight guests plus a roll of crepe paper. The design was red, white and blue with multi-colored confetti around the Doughboy. The set I have is still sealed in the bag!
