Carl's Scenarios for Civilization II Welcome
This site is a repository of Civilization II scenarios and utility programs I have made over the years.
My Scenarios
These scenarios are wargames that try to recreate the atmosphere of the historical period. Just about everything is customized (units, terrain, wonders, improvements, trade goods, cities, events). In each scenario you will have a limited number of turns to score objective points.

All of these scenarios require the Fantastic Worlds (FW) or Multiplayer Gold Edition (MGE) of Cilivization II. These scenarios are delivered as zip file archives, which means that all of the scenario files are compressed into a single file. To decompress and install the scenario, you'll need a program such as Winzip. When you open the archive, be sure to look at readme.txt for installation instructions.

Utility Programs — alternatives to hex editing.
These programs were created to assist in the editing of Civilization II save and scenario files. They are designed to work in conjunction with the in-game editor of CIV II; they are not designed as replacement editors. What they allow you to do is edit fields you can't ordinarily change except by hex-editing.

All of these programs are written in Microsoft Visual Basic and require vbrun300.dll, which you can download on each of the program's home pages. You'll only need to download and install it once. Download vbrun300.zip
civtweakCivTweak allows you change the important startup parameters, fix the bronze-age city style problem, reactivate tribes, and change barbarian cash and form of government.

civcityCivCity allows you change all kinds of city parameters. Some items can't be changed except by hex-editing; other items are just made easier to change. Civcity allows you to set up trade routes, change trade commodities and select which improvements a city has. City parameters such as owner, founder, the food box, the disorder flag and more can be set.

civhotCivHot is a small program that does one thing. You can create a hot-seat game for non-multiplayer versions of CIV II, such as Fantastic Worlds.
