  1. Color Measurement System for Fig Cookies

Off-line system for calculation of the weight of filling and casing components in fig cookies. This true color system incorporates strategically engineered acute color calibration methods for accurate filling to casing differentiation. The system features automated loading and unloading, mechanical handling and state of the art cutting technology. The previous calculation method consisted of manually separating the components after freezing (an 18 hour process). This fully automatic system completes the process in less than ten (10) seconds. The system provides accurate real-time data for control of component ratios for consistent product, substantially reduces waste of the more expensive filling component and predicts better packaging for net weight control.

  2. Inspection System for Plastic Bottle Preforms

On-line system for inspection of plastic preforms (test tube shape with a flange, cap threads, and sealing surface molded into the open end) that are used in the manufacture of plastic bottles. Imperfections occur in the sealing surface of the preform during the manufacturing process of blowing the preform into the desired bottle shape. The system inspects preforms at a rate of fifteen (15) per second for flaws in the sealing surface. The system incorporates part tracking and reject control software to remove the flawed product from the production line.

  3. Inspection System for Plastic Beverage Bottles

On-line system for inspection of threads and neck folds in plastic beverage bottles. The system inspects beverage bottles at fifteen (15) per second for thread presence and examines for neck fold defects. The system incorporates part tracking and reject control software to remove flawed product from the production line.

  4. Color Inspection System for Single Serve Condiment Pouches

On-line system for inspection of single serve condiment pouches for leakage at a production rate of 90 strokes per minute. The system "learns" the various condiment and conveyor belt colors. The system analyzes the image in quadrants to minimize CPU processing time and permits partial or singular rejection of the leaking pouch. Upon detection of a leaking pouch, the system signals the PLC to open the proper reject gate at the end of the conveyor. System components are waterproof for wash-down purposes.
