THE ARTIST

 

Adept equally in jazz,fusion, blues and contemporary genres, Mark has had a long and varied career; on July 7,2009, he celebrates 42 years of playing, studying ,performing and writing for the guitar--His travels have taken him this year to Trinidad/Tobago with steel pannist Victor Provost, to play the 'Pan Jazz in de Yard' Festival;in 2008 he and Victor played 23 dates for the prestigious 35th annual Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia, Italy--Over the past 6 years, Mark has played in Paris, Los Angeles, Boston, and Washington, DC--

 

He has lived in his home town of Pittsburgh,PA since 1999--Prior to that, he lived in the Boston,MASS area since 1984, studying with noted jazz educator Charlie Banacos and jazz guitarist Mick Goodrick--he has recorded with Ron Carter, Lewis Nash, Tiger Okoshi and others while living in Boston--

 

He released his third CD 'MYTH AND FELLING', last year to coincide with the Umbria Jazz Festival performances--MYTH AND FEELING is a solo guitar CD of standards and one original--

 

He is working on an upcoming CD, due out later this year--
