Soloist Andrew Armstrong, Piano
Praised by critics for his passionate
expression and dazzling technique, pianist Andrew Armstrong has delighted
audiences around the world. He has performed solo recitals and with orchestras
in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the United States, including performances
at Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory
, the Kennedy Center and Warsaw's National Philharmonic. In chamber
music, he has performed with the Alexander, American and Manhattans Quartets,
as well as with Itzhak Perlman.
A resident of New York City, Mr. Armstrong is married to violinist Ayako
Yoshida, guest artist for our March 4 concert. In January, he performed
in a duo with Ayako at the National Gallery; the performance was broadcast
nationally on National Public Radio's "Performance Today."
