Last weekend was the Richmond (Virginia) Cycle Expo combined with some sort of tattooing expo (One trip down _that_ aisle was enough for me). Naturally the Expo was more, or almost exclusively, devoted to custom H*rleys. One of the very few exceptions was the VBMC (Virginia British Motorcycle Club) display with 20 bikes.
First, we were all pleased that the trophy for Best Display went to the VBMC !!!!! And then we almost fell over when the trophy for Best Chopper went to a TRIUMPH !!!!! (Methinks there were more than a few ruffled feathers about that, specially considering that the whole bike certainly cost less than a mere paint job on the competition). Grin grin grin grin grin. So I guess we're not alone in having impeccable taste after all ... Just hada pass it on!
Cheers,
Jim Carr

John writes, "I have replaced the original carbs with Monoblocs, installed a 1970's aftermarket seat, and added the small windscreen. These mods make the Vincent a better rider." |

This bike was not part of the VBMC stand, but it is a fine looking Oil-In-Frame Triumph |
|
This bike (a chopped TR6R) was the only old Brit spotted in the parking lot. C'mon! Ride 'em, don't hide 'em! |
|
This Commando was not part of the VBMC display, but check out the huge drum brake! |
