Statistics and Quality Engineering Tools, Tools of the Trade, and Course Descriptions

Warning About Things in Red

I use Scientific Notebook (SN) file format at this site. SN is an integrated math/text word processor that can also perform numeric and symbolic computations. It is intended as a work environment and Internet communication tool for those of use who have to do math. You may purchase SN from MacKichan Software at http://www.mackichan.com/ for about $80. You can download a free 30 day copy of SN (14MB compressed) or just the SN viewer (5MB compressed) from http://www.mackichan.com/snbk/download/orderblk.htm . Links on this page in red point to files in Scientific Notebook file format.

The documents that you find here are quality engineering procedures and methods that I've written for students and clients. They are modeled after the original Tools of the Trade written by Carl Mentch at GE Lighting almost 20 years ago. My list of articles is about 40 long and I add new ones to the list regularly, but what you see here is all of them that I care to share right now. At the least you will need the SN Viewer (http://www.mackichan.com/) to look at any documents in red. The links below in blue take you to the abstracts and keywords.

Normal Probability Plots ,Chebyshev's Theorem, Tukey's Quick Test

Hypergeometric, Binomial, Poisson Distribution Programs for the HP32SII Calculator, and

Minitab Exec Macros Both instructions for writing macros as well prewritten macros are provided. There are approximately 50 prewritten macros. Many of these macros are unique because of the graphic output they produce. As time permits, thumbnails of the graphic output will be posted. An example of the output of the hypothesis test plot for the OneT.mac is here. Click here or on thumbnail to view a larger image of the hypothesis test plot.
