Normal Probability Plots

PGMathews, January 5, 1999 Revision 1.2

Abstract: A graphical procedure is presented to determine if a set of measurement values follows the normal distribution. A procedure is described for making normal plots by hand on special normal probability plotting paper and the Minitab commands for generating normal plots are given. Several examples are presented and discussed

Key Words: normal distribution, normal curve, normality, probability plot, hypothesis test, outlier, skew, asymmetric
