Pilates will be taught by Faythe Wemhoff.

She shows how Pilates is geared toward the subtleness of energy flowing through the body and enhancing it through conscious movement. Elongating the spine is vital in Pilates. The longer the spine is, the more efficiently the nervous system operates and the more efficient the nervous system works, the more the blood circulates bringing fresh oxygen and energy to every nook and cranny! Much of the work is about finding your center...your "powerhouse"...a place of strength and peace and balance to which you become much more attached as you participate in the work. Strengthening the powerhouse supports the spine in good posture and helps us to be mentally clear, to become more intuitive and perceptive and to be able to achieve our potential. People say that when they really get into Pilates it changes their lives completely. Better things come to them. They are motivated. They are more effective. It is truly a gift you give yourself each time you perform the work.

The East West Center of Cleveland is a macrobiotic education organization. Food can nourish or destroy us. It is our biological foundation and no one can do without it. To understand food's effect on our bodies, emotion, social life, mind and spirit, we need to understand the natural order and the way of life, as well as the unifying principle behind all phenomena, what the Chinese called yin and yang, what Judaic-Christian scriptures call The Law or the Holy Spirit, what science calls positive negative, what Native Americans call Great Spirit. They are all talking about the same thing. We make these ancient understandings mysteries comprehensible and practicable. How should we cook to be healthy, happy and satisfied? How do we avoid or treat sickness? How do we establish world peace? Join our activities as we address these issues.
