Since 1988
The Macrobiotic Center of Cleveland was established in 1988 as a resource for people interested in learning about the macrobiotic diet and way of life. Regular activities include community dinners, cooking classes, and lecture programs. Services offered include macrobiotic counseling, cooking instruction, and shiatsu massage. Books and Cookware are available for sale during classes.

Counseling services are offered to individuals interested in discussing how the macrobiotic diet should be adjusted and practiced to optimize the diet's healing benefits and to increase energy. A consultation includes a health assessment, discussion of the macrobiotic view of the cause of present condition, personalized lifestyle & dietary recommendations, home remedies. Consultations by telephone are available.
Private Cooking Lessons
Because of a lack of experience, many people are having difficulties making the transition to the macrobiotic way of cooking and cooking. Private cooking lessons are adjusted to a person's individual health requirements and level of experience with macrobiotic cooking. These sessions are offered as an alternative to group classes and are scheduled during the day.
Shiatsu Massage
Shiatsu is a pressure-point massage designed to regulate the flow of energy in the body. Pressure is applied by thumb, fingers, palms or feet to the body's surface to stimulate ki flow and blood circulation. Shiatsu massage produces deep relaxation, increases energy levels, and brings the body back to balance. Shiatsu is also very effective for detecting and correcting potential problems.Come for a shiatsu health evaluation session, energy tune-up, or to alleviate a painful condition
Francois Roland, a native of Geneva, Switzerland, has been involved in macrobiotics and natural healing for over thirty years. He is a graduate of the Kushi Institute of Boston (class of 1979) and of the Cambridge Institute of Acupuncture. While studying in Boston, he worked as an assistant in a holistic medical office and as a macrobiotic counseling assistant at the office of Michio Kushi. He also owned and operated a natural foods restaurant for four years. For the last 20 years, he has taught classes and offered services in Cleveland and surrounding communities.
