Calligraphy
These are all my original designs. "Kun Ma Allah" is a classic shape of calligraphy but the acrylic design was my own decision.
"Kun Ma Allah" The orange colors were used in order to make it evident that Allah is reflected on His creation. Therefore, the floral design reflects orange hues. All is Sunnat Allah.
"Baqarah" In "Baqarah" I painted a vine-like design in a dome sort of shape surrounding the calligraphy in order to enhance the meaning. "And God's is the East and the West: and wherever you turn, there is God's countenance. Behold! God is infinite, all-knowing." If you look carefully at "Baqarah" you will see first at the top right is "Allah". In the middle, left, again is "Allah". Finally, at the bottom right is "Allah" "... And, wherever you turn.... there is His countenance".
"Ikhlas" "Ikhlas" was actually the very first large piece of calligraphy that I ever made and it designed itself; except for the fact that I used the pens. In "Ikhlas" God is self-evident. Notice the way the vertical lines on the right balance with the curves on the left. Top center in "Ikhlas" is Allah; at the very bottom is Ahad. This was an inspiration for the plaque, "Allah Ahad". God is One! Allah (swt) has blessed this design. It was the very first large sale of calligraphy for me... and it was commissioned by a woman, Christian minister, to hang in her office. Truly, God is One.
"Hadid" "Iqra" "Subat Allah" Some people have looked at my calligraphy and asked why I've signed my name on the ayaat. I will explain. If you look closely to find my signatures, you will discover that they are always nestled somewhere just below or inside one of the Names of God. That is my symbolic way of remaining ever in the shade of the Almighty. Insha'Llah. |
