| The Mountain Dominion District provides quality programs to over 1,500 young people each year in Mercer, McDowell, Monroe, Giles, Bland, and Tazewell counties. Scouting programs are open to all boys in grades 1 through 12 and young men and women ages 14 through 20. The mission of scouting is to instill citizenship, leadership, character and fitness to young people. They are a leader in providing: training on prevention of child abuse, literacy programs and career awareness programs. The Scout Council maintains and operates Camp Roland, located in Bastian, Virginia. |
