Clinch Valley Community Action Project Discovery
| The
Project Discovery program enhances middle and high school
first-generation students' knowledge of post-secondary
education. The program is designed to help build
self-esteem, better study skills and improve time management and
test-taking skills within Tazewell County middle and high
schools. Workshops and field trips, along with college
campus visits, are made available each month. The goal of
Project Discovery is to keep students in school, encourage them to
take college preparatory courses, improve their attitudes about
post-secondary education, include parents in activities of their
child/children and to broaden their horizons by introducting them
to cultural and recreational events. |
