| The Abbs Valley - Boissevain - Pocahontas Rescue Squad, Inc., better known as Rescue 945 by the community, responded to 660 emergency calls during 1999. They had 2,097 volunteer hours on those calls and recorded 22,724 miles. Two new paramedics were trained and 120 learned CPR. Four ambulances are in service, two are four-wheel drive, and three are Advanced Life Support. A crash truck equipped with the "jaws of life", snow blade and other modern extrication equipment is among the fleet of vehicles. |
