Clinch Valley Community Action Senior Companion Program
| The
Senior Companion Program places low income persons, age 60 and
older, in the homes of adults, usually frail elderly adults, to
provide services which will allow clients to remain
independent. Companions fix meals, do light housework,
accompany clients to the doctor and grocery stores and provide
companionship to older individuals who are isolated because of
frailty, illness or disability. Senior Companions volunteer
20 hours a week and receive a stipend of $2.25 and hour to help
pay for the expenses associated with volunteering. |
