Church History:

In 1829, The Valley Church was founded by seven people. Eight years later, plans were formulated for a Church building, and the building was finished in 1840.

December 16, 1877 was the last service held at the original frame building. A new brick building was constructed and it was dedicated on December 23, 1877 as the "First Methodist Episcopal Church of Conneautville".

In 1935, the Church was renamed as the First Methodist Church.

In the late 1950's the Church went through much needed renovation, and in the Mid-1960's an education wing was planned.
Ground was broken on December 12, 1965, and the wing was completed in 1966.

In 1967, due to financial hardship, a merger took place between The First Methodist and the United Presbyterian Churches of Conneautville. The new Church was named The Valley Church-Methodist.

In 1968, The Valley Church-Methodist became The Valley Church-United Methodist due to the union, on a world level, of the Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethren Church.

In 1989, an elevator was added to give the Church handicap accessibility, and, since the Church membership had nearly doubled, additional parking space was purchased.

In 1996, the Church, again finding itself short on educational space, purchased the house and land next to the education wing. This house is now called the F.A.I.T.H ("Followers Are In This House") House, and is used primarily for Sunday School Classes.
