Assembly Instructions
Drill a hole large enough for the striker to fit thru into the 3" PVC.
Be sure you position the hole close enough to the end where the cleanout is going to be glued to enable
removal of the striker...about 3" from the end is good. I use a wood drill with a 1" blade on the
end. This allows me to clear out a flat spot in the PVC for the striker nut to fasten to.
Remove the knob from the Striker, and insert from the
inside out, so the flint end is inside the chamber.
Clean all pieces of PVC before applying PVC Cement.
Apply PVC Cement to one piece being glued. I usually apply
it to the receiving piece. You need to be sure you're doing it right...you only get one chance
with
this stuff.
Once the Cement is applied, press the two pieces together.
You will only need to hold them for a minute or so. PVC Cement is very fast curing.
File down the outer edge of the barrel so it will cut
into the potato like a "cookie cutter". This will give you a nice 1 1/2" potato plug.
Clean the reducer and other end of the chamber, and the barrel,
apply cement, and press the pieces together.
Firing Instructions
Place the victim potato over the filed end of the barrel,
and beat on the potato until the barrel has cut a hole thru it.
Use a broom handle, dowel, or closet rod to ram the plug down
into the barrel. Be careful not to ram it past where the barrell goes into the reducer. I have
a piece of tape on the ramrod marking how far down to push it.
Go to a place safe of small children and pets. Spray about
1 to 2 seconds worth (you'll get a feel for how much is needed) of Hair Spray into the open
Clean-Out end of the Chamber. I've found any Hair Spray that says "keep away from fire" is the best.
Quickly screw the cap on the Clean-Out, aim high, and give the striker a quick flick.
That's It!!!
